Types And Characteristics Of Aluminum Foil

Mar 22, 2024

Classification of aluminum foil:

by thickness

Aluminum foil can be divided into thick foil, single zero foil and double zero foil based on thickness difference.

① Thick foil: foil with a thickness of 0.1-0.2mm.

② Single zero foil: a foil with a thickness of 0.01mm and much less than 0.1mm/.

③ Double-zero foil: The so-called double-zero foil refers to a foil with two zeros after the decimal when measuring thickness in millimeters. It is usually an aluminum foil with a thickness much less than 0.01, that is, an aluminum foil with a thickness of 0.005-0.009mm.

By shape:

Aluminum foil can be divided into rolled aluminum foil and sheet aluminum foil according to its shape. Most aluminum foil further processed uncooked materials are supplied in roll form, with only a few artisanal packaging activities using sheet aluminum foil.

Aluminum foil can be divided into challenge foil, semi-challenge foil and smooth foil according to its state.

① Hard foil: The aluminum foil has not been softened and solidified (annealed) after rolling. When it is not degreased now, there may be residues on the surface. Therefore, challenging foils should undergo skim curing earlier than printing, lamination and coating. If used for molding processing, it can be used without delay.

② Semi-hard foil: Aluminum foil with a hardness (or strength) between tough foil and soft foil, usually used for forming and processing.

③ Soft foil: The aluminum foil becomes mild after being completely annealed after rolling, with a soft cloth on the surface and no residual oil. Currently, mild foils are used in most practical areas such as packaging, composite materials, electrical materials, etc.

Conditions by floor:

Types and characteristics of aluminum foil

Aluminum foil can be divided into single-sided smooth aluminum foil and double-sided smooth aluminum foil according to its floor condition.

① Single-sided smooth aluminum foil: Double-sided rolled aluminum foil. After rolling, one side is bright and one side is dark, which is called single-sided smooth aluminum foil. The thickness of aluminum foil on one side usually no longer exceeds 0.025mm.

② Double-sided smooth aluminum foil: single-layer rolled aluminum foil, with two strokes in contact with the rolling roller. The two sides of the aluminum foil are divided into reflective double-sided smooth aluminum foil and regular double-sided smooth aluminum foil due to the unique ground roughness of the rolling roller. The thickness of double-sided aluminum foil is usually no longer less than 0.01mm.

Types and characteristics of aluminum foil

Characteristics of aluminum foil:

Aluminum foil provides a clean, hygienic and vivid appearance. It can be built with many different packaging substances to shape the packaging material, and the floor printing impact of aluminum foil is higher than that of different materials. In addition, aluminum foil has the following properties:

(1) Aluminum foil flooring is very simple and hygienic, and no microorganisms will be produced on the surface.

(2) Aluminum foil is a non-toxic packaging fabric that can come into direct contact with food unless there is any actual health hazard.

(3) Aluminum foil is a tasteless and odorless packaging material that does not bring any smell to the packaged food.

(4) If the aluminum foil itself is no longer volatile, it and the packaged meals will not dry out or shrink.

(5) No matter whether it is at too high or too low temperature, there will be no oil leakage from the aluminum foil.
