Aluminum foil is in the middle reaches of the industrial chain in the entire aluminum processing industry. The upstream is the electrolytic aluminum industry. It purchases aluminum ingots from electrolytic aluminum companies for processing and produces aluminum sheets, strips and foils. Downstream industries include packaging, heat exchange, power electronics, construction, household foils, and lithium batteries. According to data, among the aluminum foil materials produced in my country, the output of packaging foil and air-conditioning foil is 2.15 million tons and 950,000 tons respectively, accounting for 51.81% and 22.89% respectively. They are the largest production/consumption varieties.
From the perspective of downstream consumption, according to statistics, my country's aluminum foil consumption increased from 2.44 million tons to 2.78 million tons, with an average annual compound growth rate of 4.44%. It is expected that my country's aluminum foil consumption will reach 3.08 million tons in the next year.
From the perspective of the downstream consumption market structure of aluminum foil, packaging aluminum foil and air-conditioning aluminum foil are the two largest consumer markets for downstream applications of aluminum foil in China. According to statistics, China's packaging aluminum foil consumption is 1.1 million tons, and air conditioning aluminum foil consumption is 740,000 tons. It is expected to reach 1.15 million tons and 810,000 tons respectively.
Bauxite has two application fields: metal and non-metal. It is the best raw material for producing metallic aluminum and is also the most important application field. The metal field accounts for more than 90% of the world's total bauxite production. According to statistics, my country's bauxite output is 82 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.33%.
