Aluminum alloy plate technology is mature, has obvious lightweight effect, relatively low cost, and is widely used in car bodies. Compared with traditional steel plates, aluminum alloy plates also have some shortcomings, which have a greater impact on product structure design and manufacturing processes.
(1) The yield strength and tensile strength are low, the elastic modulus is about one-third that of steel, the strength and stiffness of the parts are low, and the dent resistance is poor. In order to ensure the same performance requirements of the parts, the material thickness of aluminum plate parts is generally 50% higher than that of steel plate parts .

(2) The stamping performance of aluminum alloy sheets is poor, which imposes great constraints on the structural design of body parts. The elongation and thickness anisotropy coefficient are low, and the local thinning trend is obvious during drawing, which can easily cause necking and cracking.
(3) Stamping parts have serious rebound, which poses challenges to part design, stamping production and part matching.

(4) Aluminum alloy has low hardness and its surface is easily scratched, which places higher requirements on warehousing, production and logistics.
(5) A comprehensive transformation of the steel parts stamping production line is required.
