Material Overview
Zinc is the primary alloying element in 7075 aluminum, making up approximately 1–8% of the material. This alloy is precipitation-hardened, achieving strength levels comparable to steel. The T651 temper indicates the material has undergone solution heat treatment followed by slight stretching to relieve internal stresses. It is also artificially aged, allowing the alloying elements to precipitate and provide maximum strength immediately.
