GNEE stocks aluminum round pipes in grades 6061 and 6063. Standard pipe length is 20 ft, and we can cut the material to your required dimensions. We also offer cutting and chamfering on one or both ends based on your specifications. Please contact our sales team for more details.
6061 Aluminum Pipe
6061-T6 aluminum round pipe is an extruded product featuring a high strength-to-weight ratio along with good workability, machinability, and corrosion resistance. It is one of the most commonly used heat-treatable aluminum alloys and offers an excellent finish after anodizing.
Typical applications for 6061 aluminum pipe include medical equipment, aircraft construction, and structural components.
6061 Aluminum Workability
When selecting 6061 aluminum pipe, differences in temper should be considered. In the O temper, 6061 provides excellent formability, and formability is also good in the T4 temper. However, machining 6061 in the O temper can be gummy, while machinability improves in the harder tempers.

6061 Extruded Seamless Pipe
Seamless aluminum pipes are used to transport water, air, oil, and hydraulic fluids in moderate-strength applications such as transportation, marine environments, and household appliances. With no welded seam, these pipes offer higher strength, resist splitting during forming, and ensure a uniform anodized appearance.
6061 seamless pipes are produced using two manufacturing methods. One process extrudes a hollow aluminum billet through a die and mandrel under high pressure and temperature. The second method pushes a solid billet through a piercer press, where a mandrel pierces and extrudes the material in a forward stroke. Both processes create seamless 6061 pipes with no weld lines, increasing strength for pressurized fluid transfer.
Advantages of Seamless Aluminum Pipe
No weld seams, ideal for pressure vessels
More consistent anodized appearance, especially in thicker wall sections
No seam that may split during forming
Enhanced structural strength
Applications of Seamless Pipe
Seamless pipes are commonly used in pressure vessels, hydraulic cylinders, compressed gas cylinders, drive shafts, lighting systems, and bus conductors. They are recommended for applications requiring:
High pressure resistance
Demanding forming performance
Critical strength
Uniform anodized finish
6063 Aluminum Pipe
6063 aluminum pipe is produced from an aluminum–magnesium–silicon alloy. It offers good mechanical properties, is heat-treatable and weldable, and is known for excellent extrusion characteristics. Because 6063 pipe is easy to form, it is widely used for complex shapes and architectural applications. It provides a smooth surface finish, strong corrosion resistance, and can be anodized. Its as-extruded strength is slightly higher than that of 3003. When precipitation-hardened, it can reach strength levels just below 6061. It is also weldable. Common uses include irrigation systems, furniture, electrical conduit, and handrails.
