1. Comparison of chemical composition:

In the chemical composition of 5052 aluminum alloy, except for Si, Fe, Cu, Mn, and Zn elements that are not added separately, the main added element is Mg, which plays the main strengthening effect, and the addition of small amounts of Cr and Ti elements plays a certain role in grain refinement.
In the chemical composition of 5M52 aluminum alloy, part of the Mg content is reduced, and part of the Mn element is added to improve the material strength, recrystallization temperature, and alloy density. Due to a slight increase in density, the corrosion resistance effect will be more prominent than that of 5052 alloy.

2. Comparison of mechanical properties:

5052 and 5M52 have little relative deviation in tensile strength and yield strength under the same thickness. 5M52 has slightly lower elongation and hardness than 5052. All the detected values are within the national standard range.

3. Comparison of bending and forming

By comparing the bending conditions of 5052 and 5M5H32 with a thickness of 1.5mm and 90°, the surfaces of the two alloy materials after bending are delicate and smooth, without defects such as cracking and orange peel. 4. Comparison of material metallographic structures

The metallographic grain analysis of 5052 and 5M52 was conducted. Through comparison, it was found that the grain size of 5M52 alloy is finer than that of 5052. This is because the addition of a part of Mn element slightly increases the grain density, and a certain content of Mn element has an impact on grain refinement. . The denser grains effectively improve the stamping performance of the material.
