1. Core performance indicators
Alloy composition
Magnesium (3.5-4.5%): Dominant corrosion resistance, especially seawater erosion resistance, combined with manganese (0.2-0.7%) to strengthen grain boundary stability.
Chromium (0.05-0.25%): Enhanced resistance to stress corrosion cracking, suitable for high humidity marine environment.
Mechanical properties
Tensile strength ≥240MPa, yield strength ≥95MPa, elongation ≥12% (δ5 test), meeting the dynamic load requirements of ships.
It still maintains high strength in low temperature environment (-196℃), suitable for extreme working conditions such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers.
2. Application in the field of ships
Application parts Technical requirements Supporting processes
Hull hull plate Ultra-wide plates with a thickness of 4-12mm and a width of ≤3500mm, improved fatigue resistance through cold rolling + aging treatment (H116/H321 state) Laser welding (penetration rate ≥95%)
Deck structure Surface embossing treatment (pattern depth 0.3-0.8mm), anti-slip coefficient ≥0.6, adapted to ISO 5488 standard CNC stamping
Cabin partitions 1.5-3.0mm thin plates, using honeycomb composite technology (core material density 48kg/m³), sound insulation coefficient STC ≥45dB58 Hot pressing composite technology
3. Surface treatment process
Anodizing: film thickness 10-25μm, hardness HV ≥300, suitable for offshore salt spray environment
PVDF coating: Passed 3000 hours salt spray test (ASTM B117), weathering life ≥ 20 years.
Wood grain transfer: Thermal transfer process achieves simulated texture while retaining the mechanical properties of the substrate.
4. Certification and standards Classification society certification: Including DNV·GL, ABS, LR, etc., covering the chemical composition, mechanical properties and welding process verification of the plate.
Industry specifications: Complies with MIL-DTL-46027H (US military standard), ASTM B209 (US standard) and GB/T 3190 (national standard).
5. Selection and economy Thickness matching:
Light speedboat: 2.0-4.0mm
Ocean-going cargo ship: 6.0-12.0mm
Through composition optimization and process innovation, 5086 marine aluminum plate has become the preferred material for balancing anti-corrosion, strength and lightweight in modern shipbuilding.
