Anodized aluminum sheet is a sheet metal product made from aluminum sheets that has been subjected to an electrolytic passivation process, which gives the surface a strong, hard-wearing protective coating. The protective layer created by the anodizing process is essentially an augmentation of the naturally occurring oxide layer on the surface of the aluminum.

The anode's aluminum plate is oxidized, forming a thin coating of aluminum oxide on the surface that ranges in thickness from 5 to 20 microns, with the hard anodized film reaching 60 to 200 microns. The anodized aluminum plate has increased hardness and abrasion resistance by up to 250-500 kg/mm2, as well as heat resistance, a hard anodized film melting point of up to 2320K, excellent insulation, and a breakdown voltage of 2000V, thereby improving anti-corrosion performance. After thousands of hours of exposure to ω = 0.03NaCl salt spray, it will remain corrosion free. The thin layer of the oxide film contains a large number of micropores that may absorb a variety of lubricants, making it excellent for the manufacture of engine cylinders and other wear-resistant parts.
