Air conditioner foil
Air conditioner foil is a special material for manufacturing heat exchanger fins for air conditioners. The early air conditioner foil used was a plain foil. To improve the surface properties of plain foil, a hydrophilic foil is formed by applying an inorganic coating for corrosion protection and a hydrophilic organic coating before forming. Hydrophilic foil accounts for 50% of the total air conditioning foil, and its use will increase further. There is also a hydrophobic foil that makes the surface of the fins hydrophobic to prevent condensate staining. Since the technology of water-repellent foil to improve the surface defrostability needs further research, actual production is rare.
The thickness of air conditioning foil is 0.1mm to 0.15mm, and with the development of technology, there is a tendency to further reduce the thickness of air conditioning foil, with the leading product in Japan being 0.09mm. In a very thin state, the aluminum foil must have good formability, uniform organization and performance, few metallurgical defects and little anisotropy, as well as high strength, good ductility, uniform thickness and good straightness. The specifications and alloys of air conditioning foil are relatively single and suitable for mass production, but its market is highly seasonal and it is difficult for professional manufacturers of air conditioning foil to solve the contradiction between oversupply in high season and almost no demand in low season.
